Cupra begins testing the e-Racer

Cupra, a racecar brand belonging to the Spanish car manufacturer Seat, is testing its e-Racer EV at a dedicated circuit in Croatia.

The Cupra e-Racer comes equipped with two electric motors on the front axle and another two on the rear one. The total power output borders on 410 hp (306 kW), but can be further boosted to 680 hp (507 kW) during periods of rapid acceleration.

The battery consists of 6,077 individual cells and outputs a current that could be used to charge 9,000 smartphones simultaneously.

The Cupra e-Racer accelerates to 100 km/h (60 mph) in barely over three seconds and can ultimately strike 270 km/h (168 mph).

The car comes with all the permissions necessary to participate in the all-electric vehicle championship E-TCR.
