ABT Sportsline pushes the Leon CUPRA R ST to 370 hp in a special series

As you probably know by now, SEAT founded the Cupra sub-brand to concentrate on making performance-packed sports cars and racecars. The first racecar of the marque – the Cupra TCR – had a lightweight construction and an impressive 350 hp (261 kW) under the hood.

Consider now the Leon CUPRA R ST estate/wagon, a car with a rather understated exterior, but an AWD system, DSG transmission, and 300 hp (224 kW) along with 400 Nm (298 lb×ft) of torque under the hood. It was clearly overshadowed by the TCR when it came out, and ABT Sportsline addresses exactly that with its new tuning kit.

By swapping exhausts and installing an ABT Engine Control chip, the tuner has managed to bring the output to 370 hp (276 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb×ft) of torque. As a result, the wagon now concludes the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in five seconds flat and maxes out at 260 km/h (162 mph).

The ABT-tuned Leon also rides lower than stock (20mm/0.8” front, 15mm/0.8” rear), wears an aerodynamic kit and has access to a wide range of aftermarket wheels, including ABT’s own DR, ER-C, SPORT GR, and ER-F series ranging from 18 to 20 inches in diameter.

The ‘Leon ST Cupra 300 Carbon Edition’ is a limited series that consists of 300 cars.
