Seat Leon Cupra gets 7-speed Audi RS3 DSG, 589 HP from a British tuner

VRS Performance is not a name that often makes our headlines, but it seems to be our loss after all. Judging by how well the UK-based tuner does its job, it could perhaps rival some industry leaders.

This Seat Leon Cupra is one of their later works. It features a JE Design body kit, a lowered stance and a high-performance exhaust system. That said, the true highlight is still the drivetrain.

Normally, the car comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine churning out 280 hp (209 kW). Extensive tuning by VRS Performance persuades it to deliver up to 552 hp (412 kW), which is almost twice as much. If you pour in racing-grade fuel instead of the regular gas, the nominal output will ascend to 589 hp (439 kW).

Among other things, the upgrade includes a Turbo Technics V5 Turbo, revised injection and air intake systems, and a seven-speed DSG transmission sourced from an Audi RS3 (type: DQ500). Naturally, the full list is much longer, but we suggest you just watch the car in action instead.
