Shortly after unveiling its Leon E-Hybrid, Seat has started taking pre-orders for the compact-sized electrified hatchback in Europe starting from the equivalent of U.S. $39,800.
According to the automaker’s press service, the powertrain includes a 1.4-liter TSI mill and a single electric motor that join their efforts for 201 hp (150 kW). A six-speed DSG transmission sends the momentum to the wheels. All-electric range is capped at 58 km (36 miles).
The electrified Leon needs 7.5 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and includes such standard features as keyless entry, leather-trimmed steering wheel and LED lighting.
Customers in Great Britain can alternatively purchase the Leon eTSI, a mild hybrid based on a 1.0-liter gasoline engine. This spec costs $10,550 less.
