Car manufacturer Skoda has announced the release of a new mini-SUV/crossover series that it markets as a cheaper alternative to the Karoq and Kodiaq. The car will enjoy its premiere at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show in March.
Judging by the first teaser image and video, the car is being designed to look like the Vision X Concept. It is going to feature LED headlights and DRLs, as well as integrated turn blinkers.
Tech-wise, the manufacturer says it will take advantage of the new MQB A0 chassis. Other details remain secret thus far.
Rumor has it that the model will ship with a choice among a 1.0-liter engine rated between 100 – 120 hp (75 – 90 kW), a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 150 hp (112 kW), and a 1.6-liter diesel unit with unknown specs. For reference, the Vision X Concept came equipped with a hybrid powertrain capable of 130 hp (97 kW) and 250 Nm (184 pound-feet) of torque.
Another rumor claims the car will be called ‘Kosmiq’.
