Skoda Kamiq spotted in Prague without camo

The official reveal of the European Skoda Kamiq SUV won’t happen until March, and all we have seen of it so far are a few sketches published by the Czech     manufacturer. But wait no more! Here are a few photos of the new car made by spotters in the city of Prague, where it was running road tests.

The pre-production test mule looks quite a bit different from what the teaser pics showed us. The most notable differences concern the shape of C-pillars and rear lights. The two-tier headlights are still there, though.

The Europe version of the Skoda Kamiq utilizes the MQB chassis and follows the general design philosophy of the Skoda Vision X Concept.

The mini-CUV will likely ship with the same assortment of engines as the Skoda Scala and the Volkswagen T-Roc. These include two 1.0 TSI engines with 95 hp / 71 and 115 hp / 86 kW, a 1.5 TSI unit with 150 hp / 112 kW, and a 1.6 diesel with 116 hp / 87 kW.

The miniature crossover vehicle will be the cheapest offer in the Skoda SUV lineup, but the company remains silent about the prices. Stay tuned for the reveal at the Geneva International Motor Show kicking off on March 7, 2019.
