Czech carmaker Skoda has released a couple teaser pics of its upcoming Kamiq GT and set the premiere date to November 4, 2019. The coupe-shaped crossover SUV will be sold in China, and it remains unknown whether it will ever reach any other markets.
Like the standard Kamiq for China, the GT comes based on the PQ25 architecture of the Skoda Rapid. In contrast, the Kamiq for Europe takes advantage of the modular MQB platform.
Powering the newcomer is a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated gasoline engine rated at 110 hp (82 kW). Customers will also be able to opt for a 1.6-liter turbo engine, but at 116 hp (86 kW), it is only marginally superior to the first option.
The Skoda Kamiq family expanded last month to incorporate a new trim version called Monte Carlo, stylized to resemble a rally car. Changes included black exterior trim elements, special badges and 17-inch wheels.
