Skoda enters the electric car market with its Vision E Concept

The well-known Czech car maker Skoda made an official statement confirming the company’s intent to begin mass production of electricity-powered cars as early as 2020.

The first electric car by Skoda will be developed around the MEB platform based on the Vision E Concept. Once finished, it will assume a market position between Karoq and Kodiaq series. Car professionals expect a “battery life” of up to 500 kilometers as long as the state-of-the-art battery tech is used. It is worth pointing out that the car will have a wireless charge option.

Rumors also abound that the new Skoda electric car may end up with top performance engines. While this would make Vision E Concept the most powerful car in the series, it would also ramp up the price all the way up.

According to an official representative of Skoda, the company plans to launch mass production of five different electric car models before 2025.
