The major Czech car maker Skoda has revealed a lineup of cars to be used primarily by Swedish first response and emergency services.
The new Skoda Kodiaq Fire & Rescue SUV perhaps warrants most of the attention to the series. The vehicle comes with the customary fire truck livery and a full set of specialized lighting equipment. According to an official source, it was designed exclusively as a first response vehicle, and this is what it is meant to excel at.
Another car which is soon going to be available for the emergency services of Sweden is the redesigned Skoda Superb 280. Outfitted with a potent two-liter TSI engine with a 280 hp output, it can accelerate 0-100 km/h (that’s 58 mph) in 5.8 seconds.
Other highlights of the presentation included the armor-clad Skoda Superb Estate Police Dog Vehicle and a brand new rendition of Skoda Octavia Scout now acting as an ambulance car. With the four-wheel drive and a new powerful engine, the latter is now ready to challenge much worse road conditions than before.
