Experimental Skoda Karoq convertible revealed in more detail

The Swedish car manufacturer Skoda has shed some light on the technical parameters of an experimental convertible Skoda Karoq it had been building together with its students.

The conceptual vehicle will get a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and the same sport-grade shock absorbers as the ones that come with the Octavia RS. The length and width of the vehicle will remain unchanged, whereas its height is going to be lower due to the abovementioned new springs. It is going to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds or so, and go past 200 km/h (125 mph).

On the outside, the car has differently designed A pillars and door handles. It can also use in-built light projectors to project special series logos onto the road. Skoda promises to reveal the rest of the details at an official presentation event scheduled for this summer

The project started in fall 2017, when a group of Skoda School students started working on a design study of a new convertible vehicle. Another group of students had earlier revealed Citigo, a dune buggy concept.
