Skoda has upgraded its all-electric performance SUV, Enyaq RS, to exert more power and go farther on a charge. Pre-orders in Europe will open later this month.
The dual motors of the RS version gain a combined 41 PS (40 hp / 30 kW) for a total of 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). The SUV preserves its status as the company’s flagship and sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds – a full second less than before. Nothing is said about torque, but it amounted to 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) before the update.
Aside from that, Skoda has updated the ECU software to optimize power consumption, squeezing an additional 26 km (16 miles) of range out of the same battery size. As a result, the 2024 Enyaq RS has 547 km (340 miles) of range in Europe.
Speaking of the battery, it now supports 175kW charging instead of 135kW like before and can go from 10 to 80 percent full in 28 minutes of charging, down from 36 minutes.
The infotainment system enjoys a UI overhaul, and buyers get more options to choose from. These include new driving assists and assorted rear-row goodies, like airbags, USB ports and heated seats.
