Skoda Enyaq to switch to a new platform

Skoda introduced its all-electric crossover SUV, the Enyaq, in 2020, and is planning to release the second generation around 2028. Here’s some early information about it.

According to Autocar.co.uk quoting Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer, the new Enyaq will be the Czech automaker’s first electric vehicle to be based on a new platform called SSP. The current generation (seen in the gallery and the video here) utilizes the Volkswagen MEB chassis.

Volkswagen hopes to make the SSP architecture standard for its future EVs and carry 80% of VW Group models over to it by the end of the decade.
