Skoda rolls out Scala & Kamiq facelifts

The restyled Scala and Kamiq are here with all the specifications, but the sales start date remains to be announced.

Both cars have new bumpers, slightly redesigned front grilles and updated lights all around. LEDs are now standard for all trim levels, but paying extra gets you Matrix headlights. The manufacturer says that the new Scala resembles the Vision RS Concept, while the Kamiq looks more like its upmarket siblings, Karoq and Kodiaq.

Things stay more or less the same inside the cabin, although an 8-inch digital dash and an 8.25-inch center display are now included in the base trim. Higher trims offer 10.25- and 9.2-inch screens, respectively. The HVAC control panel has been revamped, too, and the trimming materials have been revised to include more recycled fabric.

For the engine, you can go with the old 1.0-liter or 1.5-liter petrol block rated from 95 to 150 PS (94-148 hp; 70-110 kW) depending on the particular modification. There is no mention of diesels in the announcement. For the transmission, you can get five- or six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT.

Rounding off the list are three suspension choices. You can stick with the well-rounded standard option, go for soft-road suspension to get 15 mm (0.6 in) of extra clearance, or choose sports suspension that drops the ride height by 15 mm (0.6 in) for the Scala and by 10 mm (0.4 in) for the Kamiq.
