Czech car manufacturer Skoda has announced a special edition of its Kodiaq SUV. Dubbed the Kodiaq RS or, on a less formal note, ‘the perfect patrol car’, it will be used by the law enforcement services of Great Britain.
Based on the seven-seat variant of the Kodiaq, the RS sports a police car livery, strobe lights, a no-nonsense 100A alarm, and an 360-degree LED lighting system for full visibility in all conditions.
Open the door, and you’ll see ergonomic bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara, a 10.25-inch all-digital dashboard, and a premium infotainment system.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS comes powered by a turbocharged diesel engine rated at 240 hp (179 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb×ft) of torque. Skoda says it is the most powerful diesel engine ever produced at its factory in Mladá Boleslav, Szech Republic. Assisted by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it takes the bulky SUV from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in seven seconds flat before maxing out at 219 km/h (136 mph).
