New Skoda Kodiaq spied testing

The seond-generation Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted running around on the Nürburgring track, Motor1 reports along with posting some photos. The teaser campaign is already running, but the automaker is apparently still working on the SUV, so the debut may take place in the fall.

The test car is clad in camo top-to-bottom, preventing us from seeing the fine details. Still, it is obvious that the car has new lighting all around and a different front bumper framed by vertical inserts. The images also confirm that the familiar proportions of the SUV are preserved in the next generation. Skoda posted a naked-body shot of the new Kodiaq earlier, and it seems in line with what we saw today.

For the drivetrain, the pre-production prototype was apparently using a petrol-electric combo. Skoda said before that the need to produce a plug-in hybrid SUV – named Kodiaq iV – was one of the main reasons why it decided to upgrade its industrial complex in Kvasiny, Czech Republic.
