Skoda teases 2nd-gen Kodiaq, promises more tech features and hybrid options

Skoda has posted some official exterior sketches of the second-generation Kodiaq SUV, following up on interior pics from before. The launch remains slated for later this fall, but we already have some specifics to go by.

Let’s start with the exterior, though. There are new two-tier headlights with visible patterns, a front bumper and original-looking c-pillars. Note than the production car may end up looking different from these sketches: for example, the taillights have distinctly different designs on two different drawings.

The company promises us a brand-new interior design with a central display sized up to 13 inches across – a record for the Kodiaq lineup so far. It also said the car would get a set of Smart Dials – knobs with integrated 32mm (1.25”) screens that owners would be able to customize however they want.

Other than that, it is official that the next-gen Kodiaq is bigger than its predecessor and is coming to the market with both mild and plug-in hybrid powertrains to choose from, aside from traditional engines. The maximum all-electric range will amount to 100 km (62 miles).
