After launching its first India-only car – the Kushaq – Skoda has now announced Slavia, an affordable sedan set to phase out the Rapid model in that country.
Back in the 19th century, the Czech company used to make Slavia bicycles before it switched to motor vehicles, and the new production car pays homage to that brand. From the technical point of view, it is heavily based on the crossover-shaped Kushaq, which you can find in our gallery after the teaser pics. The company says the production is 95% localized.
No other details have been provided, although the advertisement used epithets like ‘safe, powerful and elegant.’
The teaser promises a reveal in the winter of 2021.
