The car will be revealed at the Vienna Motor Show yesterday, January 10. The facelifted Skoda Octavia gets new front and rear end designs, updated tech and interior features.
The global engine line-up with nine motors is available for the Skoda flagship model . There are four petrol engines, four diesel engines and a G-TEC powertrain. They are ranging between 1.0 and 2.0-litre capacities and power output from 63 kW (86 PS) to 135 kW (184 PS). Besides manual gearboxes, DSG transmissions with six or seven speeds are available for almost all of the engines.
The new Octavia comes with new front and rear design elements. The bonnet of car is more streamlined. The face end has a wider and more angular radiator grille and new LED headlamp lights divided into two sections. The sedan has grown a few millimetres in length; width of its rear track has increased by up to 30 mm.
The Octavia's interior features updated upholstery and optional LED ambient lighting in the doors that which can be set to one of ten different colours. The highest-spec Octavia models will have new infotainment system with 9.2-inch touchscreen, GPS and an LTE module with Wi-Fi router. The driver and passengers will be able to inductively charge their phones via the Phonebox.
The model also has Skoda Connect app to remote access to the car and Skoda CareConnect that provides breakdown support and emergency assistance.
First Europe deliveries are due around the beginning of the year. To date, the Octavia is the brand’s best-selling model. The Czech company has sold more than five million Octavias worldwide since its launch in 1996.
