Skoda Octavia RS iV Hybrid first images revealed

Skoda continues to expand its performance lineup called Rally Sport (RS). Following the recent reveal of the Kodiaq RS SUV packing a potent new turbo diesel engine, the company should soon reveal the smaller-sized Karoq RS and eventually resurrect the Fabia RS hatchback as well.

But not all RS models come powered by gasoline or diesel engines. Some are hybrid, just like this Octavia RS iV, which we can finally see without its camo wrap on.

The electrified hot hatch should premiere at the GIMS-2020, likely packing a 1.4-liter gasoline engine assisted by a single electric motor for 245 hp (182 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) total. DSG will likely be the only transmission type available.

The regular Octavia RS range with gas and diesel versions to choose from will also be available. Understandably enough, the Rs iV Hybrid will turn out heavier and more expensive than its ICE-powered counterpart. Market observers expect it to gain around 250 kg (550 lbs) of weight compared to the old Octavia.
