The performance-packed Skoda Octavia RS debuts at the Geneva IMS 2020 next month, but in the meantime, we have these official new sketches to look at.
Compared to the non-RS version that you can see in the video, the RS has a different front bumper design with large air intakes, a new radiator grille, a trunk lid spoiler, new wheels, and dual trapezoid exhaust tips.
For the first time on record, the new RS is expected to ship with a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a single electric motor. Linked to a DSG transmission and a traction battery, the two will combine efforts for 245 hp (183 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The driving range should be close to the industry-standard 50 km (31 miles).
The traditional gasoline and diesel engines will continue to be available for the model, with the top spec likely to pack around 250 hp (186 kW) and sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.5 seconds.
