The fourth generation of the Skoda Octavia came out in 2019 and is ripe for an update, which is coming in February according to this short video teaser posted by the automaker on YouTube.
Based on the few details that can be discerned, the exterior aims for a more aggressive look with the same headlights, but slanted DRL bars. Earlier spy shots also revealed a different front bumper and reshaped taillights. Inside, a new infotainment system with a larger display has been sighted. The current Octavia lineup maxes out at 10 inches diagonal size.
Rumor has it that the car will continue to be available in Europe with its usual assortment of engines – a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, 1.5- and 2.0-liter petrol four-cylinders, and a 2.0-liter diesel. The plug-in hybrid variant should also remain available, but may trade its outdated 1.4-liter engine for a more technologically advanced 1.5-liter one already found in most recent Volkswagen Group hybrids.
