An independent artist has presented some 3D-rendered images of the next-generation Skoda Rapid – or, at any rate, what he imagines it to be. The car is scheduled for market release in 2019 and will occupy the same market niche as the Ford Focus, Seat Leon, and Honda Civic.
The updated Skoda Rapid will utilize a modular car platform known as the MQB A0. Rumor has it that its engine palette will be expanded to include new 1.0- and 1.5-liter gasoline engines as well as a 1.6-liter diesel one.
Some also expect the new Skoda Rapid to ship with an optional mild hybrid drivetrain, but no official confirmation exists at the moment.
Skoda has promised to reveal the new car in greater detail soon.
