Czech car manufacturer Skoda will be releasing special ‘Monte Carlo’ editions of its Scala hatchback and Kamiq crossover SUV, an homage to the same-name rally series that the company has been participating in for over 100 years now.
Both vehicles should debut at the IAA Frankfurt 2019 kicking off next month. Main claimed features include a black exterior trim, special badges and logos, and an extended list of standard equipment.
The original Skoda Monte Carlo was a rally car that came out in 1936 based on the Popular chassis and tech. A total of 70 such vehicles has been produced until 1939. Modern Skoda cars such as the Yeti, Rapida, Citigo, and Fabia have all received their Monte Carlo editions since 2011.
