Tuners render Skoda Superb 2X as powerful

Even as Czech car manufacturer Skoda is still thinking over whether it should release an RS variant of its Superb executive liftback/estate or not, a car enthusiast decided to take the matter in his own hands.

He went to a tuner shop, or possibly to several shops. The body of the car bears the emblems of Sportline, Laurin & Klement, and Greenline, but it is hard to say what kind of contribution each of these made.

In its stock version, the Skoda Superb engine is only capable of 280 hp (209 kW). The modded car has 560 hp (418 kW), or twice the initial output. How is that possible? Well, the owner of the vehicle had first tried boosting the factory engine, but in the end decided to replace it with a brand-new Audi S3 and tuning the hell out of that one. As you may see, the result proved quite remarkable.

The car now accelerates 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, which is twice as fast as the mass-produced car can do, and even faster than the 3.1s of the BMW M5 Competition.

The unique Skoda Superb is now on sale for £35,000.
