Skoda Superb Scout debuts in Bratislava

Skoda has officially unveiled the Superb Scout, a new off-road-capable estate/wagon with a high clearance, potent engine range, and AWD. The reveal took place at the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia.

The Superb Scout sports a more aggressive exterior and has plastic guards, side mirrors with faux aluminum caps, contrasting roof railings, and special series logos and badges.

The model also rides 15 millimeters (0.6”) higher than stock and has a metallic engine undershield. It ships with a variety of 18” and 19” wheel sets to choose from.

The cabin greets with imitation wood inserts and fabric upholstery, but you may pay extra to get a leather or Alcantara trim.

The Skoda Superb Scout will ship strictly as an AWD estate/wagon. Customers will be given a choice between a 2.0-liter turbo diesel rated at 190 hp (142 kW) and a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine capable of 272 hp (203 kW). Both link to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The driver will get several modes to switch among, including the Off-Road mode that will imitate diff locks by braking the skidding wheels.

Sales in Europe will begin in early 2020.
