New Skoda Superb Armoured can withstand rockets and bullets

The Czech vehicle manufacturer Skoda has unveiled Superb Armoured, an armor-clad estate car with advanced ballistic and blast protection that took the company three years to perfect.

Skoda has enlisted the services of dedicated security experts from Great Britain for the project. The vehicle has been built with the diesel-powered, 187-hp (140 kW) strong Skoda Superb at its base. The cars even manage to look the same on the outside, but the armor-plated one comes with a PAS 300 certificate testifying its ballistic and blast protection.

The safe vehicle also features a special wheel design that allows it to travel with flat tires, a light and sound warning system, performance brakes, and stronger suspension.

The interior houses a GPS receiver, an infotainment system with smartphone support and a variety of electronic assistance functions. No further details are available on these at the moment.

UK citizens may now pre-order their own Skoda Superb Estate with one of the authorized dealerships starting at £118,600.
