Slovenian Tushek hypercar sheds more weight, gains 1.5x the power

Slovenian company Tushek & Spigel Supercars has announced a major update coming to its TS900 Apex model. The hypercar will weigh 60 kilos (132 lbs) less and exert around 50% more power, resulting in a 0.2s faster sprint. The premiere will be held during the Salon Prive expo in London.

Powering the exotic supercar are dual electric motors and a 4.2-liter V8. Back when the company introduce the original concept three years ago, the system was estimated to be capable of 950 PS (937 hp / 700 kW). A number of improvements have been made to bring the power up to 1,350 PS (1,331 hp / 993 kW).

The development team behind the project believes their creation to be the world’s lightest hybrid hypercar now. The revised weight amounts to mere 1,350 kilograms (2,976 lbs). There are no specifics on how it was achieved, but the coupe makes extensive use of carbon fiber and chrome-molybdenum steel.

Thanks to these updates, the Tushek TS900 Apex now sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.3 seconds instead of 2.5. It reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 seconds and continues to accelerate until 380 km/h (236 mph). Any other parameters should become known at the Salon Prive.

Only 36 vehicles priced from €1,500,000 each will be made. A track-only version called the TS900 Race Pro is set to debut after its road-legal counterpart and be limited to 12 production units.
