The Smart #5 crossover has yet to be properly introduced, but the company felt it was time to preview what options it will get once it reaches the market. The so-called Outdoor Adventure pack finally makes the car look like its original concept (see video).
The full reveal remains scheduled for August 28, so let’s have a look. These sketches of accessories are all we have right now, but they are informative enough. For example, there is a modular roof rack that you can partially dismantle when not needed, and a number of racks and mounts for all kinds of equipment, such as action cameras.
To facilitate roof access, there is a ladder at the right-hand side of the car. There is also a handy box for smaller items at the left side, mounted near the c-pillar. The side steps can be optioned with anti-slip covers so you don’t slip off after a walk in the mud. One last image demonstrates the #5 with a roof tent, but it remains unclear whether it will be on sale from Smart or is just there for illustration purposes.
