The Smart Fortwo is an ultra-light, ultra-compact city car few people would call a solid performer. It usually comes equipped with humble three-cylinder engines capable of between 41 and 74 horsepower (31 – 55 kW), the latter only attainable if you install the topmost upgrade from Brabus.
However, the owner of this particular Smart set off for some record-breaking when he equipped his ride with a four-cylinder Kawasaki ZX-10R engine taken straight out of a motorcycle. According to him, the new engine can produce up to 190 hp (142 kW) and rev up to the stellar 13,000 RPM.
Granted, he had to partner that engine with a sequential transmission with the neutral between first and second gear and no reverse at all. Imagine the implications.
The modded Smart Fortwo also received a new set of disc brakes, as well as soft rear wheel suspension. The latter made it a bit too bouncy, but hey, it’s the crazy roaring engine everyone’s going to pay attention to!
