Brabus works its tuner magic on the Smart EQ Fortwo

The Brabus Ultimate E depicted here is essentially just a post-facelift Smart EQ Fortwo with an updated Widestar body kit, some special exterior trim, and a deluxe cabin.

The car now wears a black paintjob with stylish red accents, and rides on the 18-inch Monoblock Y wheels taken from its pre-facelift version. Inside, the running boards sport Brabus logos, the pedal pads are made of brushed aluminum, and the gear selector is new.

The technical specs stay unchanged. Just like its 2019 counterpart, the electric urban car propels itself with 92 hp (69 kW) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque, putting it roughly 11 hp (8 kW) and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) above the regular Smart. It still needs 11.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph), and maxes out as low as 130 km/h (81 mph). Its standard battery stores up to 17.6 kilowatt-hours of power and yields up to 125 kilometers (77.7 miles) of range, according to Brabus. The non-tuned Smart EQ has superior 150 km (93 mi) of range.

While the old 2019 Brabus Ultimate E emerged in 28 units priced from €58,845 onwards, the 2020 version will get a production run of 50 units priced starting at €61,050. The tuner sets the premium despite the fact that the car itself has gone down in price from €26,380 to €25,200 over the past year.
