Hard as it may be to believe, the adventure seekers of this world will even use a Smart Fortwo as their camping vehicle of choice.
The project detailed in these two videos is extensive and involves lifting the suspension by 50 mm (2 inches), installing new, meaty tires, and adding a sturdy roll cager with some additional lighting for nighttime driving.
Modifications continue inside the cabin, where a special box is installed with a two-burner gas stove and a kitchen sink. A case nearby is used for storing kitchenware.
You may still think that the Smart Fortwo is an extremely poor candidate for a camper conversion – and be justified in doing so – but make sure you watch the videos if you are at all interested in such projects. They provide quite a bit of insight on the car, its overlanding capabilities and the assets required for the conversion.
