The South Korean car brand SsangYong has officially introduced the SsangYong e-SIV Concept SUV to the first guests of the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The vehicle is the first in the company’s history to get an all-electric drivetrain.
Another car, which is expected to come as a replacement for the SsangYong Korando/Actyon crossover SUV currently on the market, should be also revealed soon.
The all-new SsangYong e-SIV Concept comes equipped with an electric engine capable of 190 hp and a battery set enough for 450 km driving range. It can accelerate to a maximum of 150 km/h.
Interestingly enough, the driver can control most of the car’s functions via the touch-enabled infotainment display. The car can also recognize gestures and even receive commands from a dedicated mobile app.
The company refused to provide any estimation on the release date of a series-produced car model based on the SsangYong e-SIV Concept.
