SsangYong teases next-gen Korando C300

Car manufacturer SsangYong has announced the forthcoming premiere of its next-generation Korando crossover/SUV. Called the C300, the new model will eventually phase out the Korando C (C200), which has been around since 2010. Note that in some markets, the SsangYong Korando С is called ‘Actyon’.

Based on the images, the new SUV draws most of its design inspiration from the e-SIV Concept revealed a while ago, while at the same time managing to look much better than its predecessor. Among other things, the new Korando sports revised front and rear fascia, as well as more prominently sculpted sides.

The manufacturer doesn’t provide any kind of technical specs yet, but it’s worth mentioning that the show car we saw was all-electric. The mass-produced version is somewhat likelier to ship with regular IC engines, including a 1.5-liter gasoline engine  and a 1.6-liter diesel unit.

Some expect the new SsangYong Korando С300 to become larger than its predecessor, the C200. At around 4,600 mm (15.1 ft.) long, it could be 173 mm (0.57 ft.) longer than the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The new generation will celebrate its show premiere in spring 2019.
