In the famous rally-raid "Dakar-2018" a new participant will appear. Next year, on the road will be the car of the South Korean automaker SsangYong Motor Company.
As official representatives of the company told, in an extreme race will take part specially prepared version of compact crossover Tivoli. Behind the wheel of the car sits the Spanish racer Oscar Fuentes, who wears the title of the best in the national championship in rally-raids. According to the athlete, he "is ready to compete for the title of the best debutant of the race." Helping the Spaniard during the races will be a specially trained team of technicians, staffed with a support truck.
Next year, the rally-raid "Dakar-2018" will be held from 6 to 20 January. The route is located in the territories of three states: Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
By the way, as they told in the carmaker's office, SsangYong Tivoli DKR recently passed several crucial tests that helped evaluate the car's readiness for racing, as well as the work carried out by technicians over the past few months.
