Straight after revealing its financial report, Stellantis Group proceeded to dismiss thousands of employees in the United States.
The company’s factory in Warren, Michigan reported laying off as many as 2,400 personnel, and other similar plans were announced by other structural divisions. The local trade union known as the UAW (United Auto Workers) has threatened the automaker with another workers’ strike, further escalating the situation.
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, who was on leave when the news came in, rushed to the USA to resolve the crisis.
