Subaru’s first e-SUV shows up on video

Subaru has released the first video teaser of its upcoming crossover SUV, the Solterra, which it has designed together with Toyota. It looks like the marque’s first EV features LED Matrix headlights and an unusual curved center console.

Aside from demonstrating the SUV in action, the video focuses on its individual design elements: boomerang-shaped taillights, a couple of rather small spoilers, and headlight units consisting of four LED sections each.

Inside, the digital dashboard is recessed towards the windshield, and the glossy center console consists of a horizontal and a vertical part. The upright part houses a large touchscreen display of the infotainment system, while the lower part accommodates a touchpad, sensor controls, and a drive selector.

On the outside, the Solterra looks nearly identical to the electric Toyota bZ4X Concept revealed in April. The two production cars will be technically related, but neither has any powertrain or platform specs yet. The interior is one area where the Solterra looks different from its prototype.
