A few days after the reveal of the Toyota bZ4X (see video), Subaru has confirmed that its technical twin – the Solterra – will debut on November 11, 2021.
Both crossover SUVs come based on the same e-TNGA platform. The Toyota-badged variant supports FWD and AWD, the first one rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 500 km (310 miles) of range and the second one at 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 460 km (285 miles). The Subaru might be released in AWD only, although it isn’t official yet.
Judging by the teasers, the interiors of the two cars are completely identical. the Solterra has different wheels, headlights and anti-fog lights, though, and could have different equipment on board as well. The Toyota will be coming to the market with optional solar panels or panoramic roof; no options have been announced for the Subaru yet.
