2021 Subaru BRZ revealed in the USA

Subaru has rolled out what it calls ‘the next generation’ of its BRZ sports coupe, even though the chassis and the body outlines remain largely unchanged from the previous model.

The exterior still gains in aggressiveness with new air intakes at the front, sculpted sides and a larger ducktail spoiler at the rear end.

Inside, there is a Starlink multimedia system with an eight-inch display, a digital instrument cluster seven inches across, and red stitching. The EyeSight Package of electronic driving aids is also included.

The old 2.0-liter non-turbo engine rated at 205 PS (202 hp / 151 kW) is gone, replaced by a 2.4-liter opposite-four mill rated at 231 PS (228 hp / 170 kW) and 249 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Transmission can be six-speed manual or automatic, and acceleration times remain to be measured.

The new Subaru BRZ will be a U.S.-only model. Prices will be announced later.
