Having introduced the BRZ tS in the United States, Subaru has brought the same sports car to Japan under the name ‘STI Sport’. A live premiere is scheduled for September 24.
Compared to the standard BRZ model, the STI Sport features various suspension tweaks, Brembo brakes with gold-tinted calipers, wheels sized up to 18”, black side mirror covers and BRZ badges on the headlights.
A new trim level is available for the interior that mixes Bordeaux Red and black Alcantara with leather. The engine start/stop button is also red and adorned with the STI plaque. Metallic trim bits all around round off the sported-up look.
Subaru Japan expects to sell around 350 units per month starting from ¥3,762,000.
Power for the BRZ STI Sport comes from a standard 2.4-liter flat-four engine rated at 231 PS (228 hp / 170 kW) and 249 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, which goes to the rear axle.
