The famous Subaru BRZ Cup Car Basic is available on its domestic market of Japan once more, priced from the equivalent of U.S. $24,370.
Like the Toyota GR 86 that these cars share the platform with, they are essentially foundations for various racecar builds. Compared to the “civilian” BRZ (see video), they come with a stripped interior, no noise proofing, no side airbags and no curtains. In return, they get a roll cage, mounts for a six-point safety harness on the driver’s side, and steelies for wheels.
A similar Cup Car series came out two years ago. The newer version enjoys the latest EyeSight assist package and a redesigned cage.
