Subaru teased us with a single image of a mysterious new car it was going to unveil at the LA Auto Show on November 16, 2023. It never specified what model it would be, but AutoHome believes that it is the sixth-generation Forester SUV.
The publication references the images of the new crossover allegedly leaked to the Internet a few days ahead of the official reveal. They do look like official shots and suggest that the car will change drastically in its new generation. The front end in particular looks completely different thanks to a new grille and headlights, a lower-slung hood line, boxy wheel arches and differently styled c-pillars.
Interior highlights include a three-spoke wheel with a plethora of buttons on it, analog instruments, a traditional transmission selector and a large vertical display not unlike those of most other recent Subaru cars.
We would assume that the technological innovation would be rather limited in comparison. In all likelihood, the new Forester will continue to rely on its old 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 185 PS (182 hp / 136 kW). The same goes for its AWD system and CVT gearbox.
We should learn more on Thursday, though, so stay tuned.
