Check out Travis Pastrana’s wild Subaru WRX STI build for Gymkhana

The U.S. office of Subaru has unveiled one of its most unhinged WRX STI custom builds to date: the badass sedan will enter the next Gymkhana drift show piloted by Travis Pastrana, the official driver of the Subaru Motorsports USA team.

Arising from a collaboration between Subaru and Vermont SportsCar, the one-off boasts a unique carbon-fiber body and kit extensively tested in the wind tunnel. The canards at the front help guise the air flow down the sides, and the rear end houses an enormous diffuser next to a multi-plane rear wing. Further noteworthy features include long-travel suspension, a shortened exhaust system with the tips protruding from the hood, and a roll cage.

Powering the stock WRX STI is the 2.5-liter Subaru Boxer engine worth 314 hp (234 kW), or 346 hp (258 kW) in the S209 spec. The Gymkhana build is definitely stronger than that, but the final numbers aren’t available yet.
