Subaru’s Wilderness line of vehicles will sport a range of improvements over their production counterparts, both stylistic and technical.
The next-gen Outback SUV shown in our gallery here will be the first Wilderness car to hit the showrooms later this year. It will boast a suspension lift kit, chassis and shock tweaks, protective paneling, small-diameter wheels and all-terrain tires. Nothing is being said about the stock 2.4-liter engine, so it will probably keep its stock 264 PS (260 hp / 194 kW).
The Japanese automaker will primarily target North America with the newborn sub-brand. The Outback and Forester models constitute roughly a half of Subaru’s total sales on the NA market. It remains to be announced whether any other countries may get it later on.
