Subaru of America has officially reported selling 45,790 cars in February 2023, a 2% increase year-over-year. The Solterra EV accounted for only 0.8% of that number, or 347 units.
The SUV fared as poorly as its technical twin, the Toyota bZ4X, but the statistics on the latter will only be available after the end of the Q1 2023. We will know for certain then which one enjoyed more customer attention.
The biggest problem looming on the horizon for both battery SUVs is that the United States may cancel the $7,500 federal tax credit soon. If it happens, the already-poor sales could plummet to the very rock bottom.
In its AWD spec with 72.8 kilowatt-hours of power on board, the Subaru Solterra can cover up to 367 km (228 miles) of EPA-rated range in combined mode.
