Subaru will attend the upcoming Detroit Motor Show with a special take on its WRX STI sedan. Called the S209, it will become the company’s first S vehicle to be sold outside of Japan.
Subaru remains tight-lipped about any technical details. Rumors speculate that the upcoming car might end up stronger than the WRX STI Diamond Edition with its 350+ hp (260+ kW).
On the outside, the new vehicle boasts a large, Type RA-style rear wing, front bumper canards and prominent fender flares.
It is also official that the production quantity will not exceed 500 units.
Subaru launched the WRX STI S208 sedan in Japan in the fall of 2017. The car came equipped with a two-liter, turbocharged, opposite-cylinder engine rated at 329 hp (245 kW).
