The next generation of the Subaru WRX and WRX STI is making a switch to the new SGP platform; in the meantime, the old generation just cannot seem to be able to get enough farewell editions in various countries.
Seriously, if we were to make a list, it would include such highlights as Series.Gray, STI S209, WRX STI EJ20 Final Edition, WRX STI Final, WRX S4 STI Sport #, and probably a few others. Today, customers in Australia get their own chance to grow all nostalgic with the WRX Club Spec Limited Edition.
Limited to just 150 production units, it will ship with Recaro seats, Ultrasuede-wrapped STI steering wheel, Harman Kardon 8-speaker set with a subwoofer, Brembo brakes (manual shift only), and STI wheels. Club Spec badges all around will tell anyone it is a special series, and there will be a plaque in the cabin with the serial number reading ‘X of 150’.
The powertrain stays untouched, which in case of the two models means a two-liter opposite four-cylinder mill hooked onto either six-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The nominal power amounts to 268 hp (200 kW) and the peak torque to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).
