Subaru rolls out the WRX TR

The latest and greatest Subaru WRX saloon has officially debuted in the United States. Along with the ‘TR’ model suffix, it received Recaro seats and upgraded suspension and brakes – but no apparent engine improvements.

The suspension has received new damping ratios thanks to stiffer springs, and the steering has been overhauled for sharper and more stable handling. In the brakes department, the company picked six-piston Brembo calipers for the front end and their two-piston counterparts for the rear end. Brake rotor diameters went up to 340 and 326 millimeters, respectively. The car rides on 19-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.

In its stock form, the WRX comes equipped with a 2.4-liter engine capable of 271 PS (267 hp / 199 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The press release fails to mention any upgrades in this regard.
