The Japanese car maker Subaru has unveiled a limited special edition of its WRX / WRX STI vehicle lineup named Series.Grey. The batch will only be sold on the U.S. market.
The WRX STI has got to keep its stock 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, albeit with a few modifications. A firmware update, different pistons and changes to injection and exhaust systems have resulted in a 10-hp performance increase, bringing the total to 310 hp (231 kW). Optimizations to the third gear have also improved the overall dynamic performance of the vehicle.
The car will also ship with new, stylish 19” wheels with silvery brake supports and Recaro power seats. The batch will include only 250 vehicles.
Predictably enough, the WRX Series.Gray series won’t be receiving as much attention as its hi-end counterpart. Each car will get an infotainment system with a 6.5” sensor display and smartphone-controlled online radio support. On the outside, exclusive features will be limited to a set of 18” wheels and unique grey lacquering. A total of 750 vehicles will make it to the showrooms.
Get $32,500 USD ready if you would like a WRX, or $39,700 if you would rather get the higher-end WRX STI.
