Carscoops has posted photos of what looks like a Subaru car – a performance take on the new WRX, to be specific. The company did say a while ago there would be no WRX STI in this generation, so we are a bit perplexed.
As you can see, there is only minimal camo all around. The rear end badges, brake caliper parts and other such minor details are hidden, but that’s it. Remarkably enough, the older models had their STI badges precisely where the wrap is on this test car.
But that isn’t all. If you check out the interior, you will find that it is virtually identical to the cabin of the current WRX (see video) and has no camouflage whatsoever. For a pre-production test car, this one surely goes out of its way to appear stock. So, perhaps the engine bay is where things finally get interesting? What do you think?
Subaru has refused to comment so far.
