2020 Subaru XV debuts straight after its Impreza sibling

Subaru has unveiled the facelifted XV crossover series. None of the changes are dramatic.

On the outside, the refreshed CUV sports slightly altered LED DRLs and reshaped anti-fog lights at the back.

Interior novelty boils down to the updated multimedia system, which now boasts some new features along with a larger touch-enabled display that necessitated moving the remaining physical controls farther away from it.

Like the technically similar Impreza, the latest Subaru XV ships with the EyeSight Touring Assist package which includes AEB, lane control and adaptive cruise control. The package, which used to be available as a paid option, is now standard for all trims.

The SUV will no longer be available in Japan with the old non-hybrid, 2.0-liter gasoline powertrain. Instead, this version will now ship with a mild-hybrid add-on rated at 14 hp (10 kW) to assist the car during the initial start and acceleration.
